Happy Birthday, Pathways Church!

One year ago, 46 people gathered to dream about what it might look like to be a community that asked a very simple quesiton, “What does it look like to follow Jesus in the world in which we live?” Who would have known that a year later we have seen God at work in so many different ways. Lives have been changed, worldviews have been altered, relationships have been built, and individuals have asked Jesus to be the director of their steps. All while I stand with my jaw dropped in awe of what happens when people join together seeking the heart of God.

This weekend we are turning 1 year old! Please join us for a celebration of what God has done and is doing within this community. We are going to do a community meal together, so come hungry. You are welcome to bring something or if you are not able to, that is not a problem as everyone is bringing plenty to share. We hope to see everyone there.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday…..ok, that is it. I am saddened that I will miss this week. It is so hard for me to believe that it has already been a year. Seems like only yesterday, I met Dean, Leslie, and the boys.Dean told us this dream of starting a church. Honestly at the time it was hard for me to imagine anyone coming, oh my simple human understanding. We prayed for buildings, people, and everything else. Funny thing is, I don’t think any of that has happened. It is light years above and beyond anything I could have imagined. The cool thing is, it isn’t stuff that has made it great. It has been the Spirit led community of bleievers, reaching out to people they didn’t know, and wanting to walk this journey together. I am thankful to God that I was/am a part of this community. It seems like the timing was perfect for Heather and I. I also can’t wait to introduce our baby to all of you, who bring smiles to my face every week. Catch you all next week.

Josh also described our situation perfectly (just make a couple of substitues such as Ina for Heather and the fact that I didn’t start showing up until December).

The people at Pathways are the best friends we’ve ever had and I can’t imagine a place where we’d feel more loved and accepted.
